Amy Johnson, AMFT
Therapist
Amy is a dedicated Clinician at our Sacramento location, with a rich background in drug and alcohol counseling dating back to 2006. She began her career working with clients under Prop 36/DEJ, and has also facilitated groups and education for DUI offenders. Amy is now able to work with dual-diagnosis clients under supervision, having earned her MFT (Marriage and Family Therapy) degree.
Her experience includes working with individuals facing trauma, self-harm, agoraphobia, social anxiety, domestic violence, depression, and more. Amy has seen high recovery rates and is passionate about helping clients reduce or eliminate symptoms to improve their quality of life. She believes that healing from the past can positively impact the present and that emotional well-being is essential to lasting recovery.
Before transitioning to therapy, Amy spent 10 years as a social worker, focusing on assisting the homeless, which further fueled her passion for supporting those in need.
Outside of her clinical work, Amy is an avid traveler and an urban farmer. She enjoys gardening and takes pride in raising chickens and ducks, offering her daily supply of fresh eggs.
