Carter Serrett MBA, MA, LPA,

Chief Executive Officer

Carter Serrett is a seasoned executive in the behavioral health industry, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at the Azure Acres Recovery Center in Sebastopol, California. By recently joining Azure Acres Carter continues to build on his extensive leadership experience in addiction recovery, rooted in his ability to foster good clinical programing, safe and engaging treatment for all, project management, team building, and strategic planning.

Carter’s expertise is fortified by his pursuit of a PsyD in Clinical Psychology and his credentials as a licensed Psychological Associate. He also holds an MBA and an MA in Counseling Psychology, which underscore his multifaceted approach to healthcare leadership. Having recently returned to Northern California, Carter feels privileged to work in one of the most nature-rich settings dedicated to aiding individuals in addiction recovery.

Previously, Carter led Clearview Treatment Programs, where he served as CEO for over a year, focusing on leadership development and employee engagement. His tenure at Akua Behavioral Health as CEO highlighted his passion for behavioral health where he was responsible for leading multiple facilities, including the establishment of a transitional housing department and the implementation of new programming to serve the greater needs of Sacramento County.

At Duffy’s Napa Valley Rehab, Carter thrived as CEO for three years, orchestrating innovative outpatient programs and surpassing financial targets consistently. His strategic leadership during wildfires and COVID-19 outbreaks demonstrated his resilience and commitment to maintaining operational continuity.

Before these roles, Carter was instrumental as the Director of PHP and Director of Case Management, where he developed programs compliant with licensing requirements and championed process improvements. He also played a pivotal role in case management, enhancing client retention through improved transition processes.

Carter’s earlier career saw him as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Barnes & Conti Associates and Project Management Mentors, where his skills in strategy and marketing development flourished.  In these roles he worked to build brand identity and expand market share in the field of training and professional development.

With a career marked by innovation, leadership, and dedication to improving mental health services, Carter Serrett continues to make impactful contributions to the field of addiction recovery and behavioral health.
