Daniel J. Ceglowski, MD, MBA, FACEP
Medical Director
Dr. Daniel Ceglowski joined Azure as Medical Director in October of 2022. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan College of Engineering and invested 12 years in the aerospace industry working at Bell Helicopter, General Electric Aircraft Engines and Northrup Grumman. While working in engineering, he studied business and received an MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. His medical degree was granted by the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and he completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Dr. Ceglowski attended in the Emergency Room of Gerber Memorial Hospital for 17 years. During this time, he also served as the Medical Director for the Newaygo County Medical Control Authority, and as the Secretary of the West Michigan Medical Control Consortium and the Region 6 Regional Trauma Network. It was during his time in the Emergency Room that Dr. Ceglowski first became invested in the care of underserved addiction and mental health patients. This led him to complete an Addiction Medicine Fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and eventually develop a substance use clinic, in concert with Community Mental Health, in a rural area of West Michigan.
Dr. Ceglowski holds an honorable discharge from the United States Naval Reserve and remains a passionate advocate for Veterans and first responders. He is strongly committed to the recovery of licensed professionals as well, particularly in the post-pandemic era.
Currently, Dr. Ceglowski is focused on the development of digital therapeutics for individuals afflicted by addiction. In concert with his mentors, he hopes to incorporate these revolutionary innovations into his integrated treatment model, which includes medication, 12-step principles, group psychotherapy and contingency management. In doing this, he hopes to drive improved patient outcomes and create more effective and accessible care.
His zeal and compassion for treating the substance use and mental health populations have been shaped by his experiences in healthcare, and by witnessing the struggles of co-workers, friends, and family. Dr. Ceglowski continues to educate patients and medical staff alike, confronting and dismantling the stigma they face, and devising improved ways to meet their needs. The journey from debilitating substance abuse to lasting recovery is challenging, but does not need to be painful, shameful, or unfulfilling. He hopes to share his vision with any individual seeking to invest in their being and realize their goals.
