Sofia Johnson
Therapist
“There is a sacredness in tears. They are not a mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief, deep contrition, and unspeakable love.”
— Washington Irving
Sofia’s journey to where she is today has not been an easy one, personally or professionally. However, she truly believes that she is in the right place at the right time. Self-empowerment is something she strives to achieve not only for herself but also for those she encounters. Another core value is teamwork. If we can come together as a team, regardless of our walks of life, we can become stronger and better able to model what it means to be a team for those who need our help most of all.
Since 2013, Sofia has served her community in various impactful roles, including as a mental health and substance abuse/addiction therapist (serving non-profits, school-based programs, eating disorders, substance use, and higher levels of care), behavioral interventionist, child and family advocate, program manager, psychiatric unit intake worker, and more. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Sofia is deeply committed to serving individuals and families affected by addiction, which guides her current work as an IOP Therapist, ensuring the highest quality of care for those seeking treatment at Azure Acres.
In her free time, Sofia enjoys sports, traveling, and spending quality time with her family.
