The thought of entering alcohol and drug detox can be intimidating, but with the help of the caring and experienced staff at Azure Acres, detox need not be frightening. Instead, detox is often one’s first step over the threshold into a life free from the grasp of substance abuse. Throughout a person’s time in detox, he or she will be cared for by healthcare professionals and other members of our treatment team who will work to ensure the detox process is as safe and comfortable as possible. Once detox is complete, residents move into our residential care program and begin learning skills that will serve them for the rest of their lives.

Located in Sebastopol, California, the lodge that is our main facility has been the location where more than 20,000 people have taken their first steps towards freedom from substance abuse. We believe that there are different types of substance use disorders that require different treatment approaches, and we see substance abuse as a chronic relapsing illness that requires long-term professional help if it is to be overcome. The treatments we use in our residential program include the following empirically supported interventions:

• Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
• Client-centered therapy
• 12-Step facilitation

Prior to discharging from Azure Acres Treatment Center, our clinical staff designs an individualized aftercare plan with you and your family that takes into account your school, work and/or home life. In addition to a strong relapse prevention plan, continuing care support may include referrals to therapists, outpatient programs, sober living environments and extended care programs, depending on your needs. We offer intensive outpatient program services at our facilities in Sebastopol and Sacramento.
